How To Mother and Homeschool Your Children

Trying to be a kind and loving mother (Mama) while homeschooling can be an enormous struggle! Raise of hands?? ✋✋      Finding the balance between home life and home school is something I continue to struggle with daily. I am just as easily distracted as my children most days. We sit down at our "allotted time" (whenever we get to the table most days) and begin work. I do not allow snacks at the table only water bottles (With lids!! That's very important). I must sit at the table to ensure certain children continue working. I also grade each child's Pace (ACE School of Tomorrow) as they finish them so they may correct the mistakes before we end the school day.       Yet, there are so many things I see from my seat at the table that need doing. The laundry machine beeps finished, and I hop up to swap it only to return to my position and find someone coloring or creating a carving out of their pencil. Correction ensues and another ch...

About Me

My name is Bethany. I am 36 years old. I am a wife to a wonderfully kind and loving man (who happens to pastor our church). I have 4 beautiful children, 2 boys and 2 girls.

I grew up in a Christian home and graduated from a Christian School. While attending Bible college I met my husband. We were married less than 2 years after meeting. We have been married for 15 years.

I love to sing, cook, hike, and mostly spend time with my family. I love to read but rarely have time. I also enjoy good movies and can watch Gilmore Girls on repeat.

My life has not been a bed of roses, nor has it transpired as I imagined. However, God is good, and He is faithful. While looking back on my life and looking forward to the future I was faced with the word, Ponder. Ponder means: To weigh in the mind; to consider and compare the circumstances or consequences of an event, or the importance of the reasons for or against a decision.

While I cannot go back and change the past, I can consider what has transpired and work to make a better future. I cannot pinpoint any specific wrong in my journey (other than obvious personal failures). Honestly, my life has been truly blessed. I do, however, want to do much better in the next phase of life. I want to have big goals, and I want to achieve them.

I believe the way to do this is by pondering on God's Word more and more. Hence the name of this blog.
